Rewilding California’s Forests for a Thriving Future
Nestled in the heart of California’s redwood country, Tierra Linda Park is a rewilding and ecological restoration project dedicated to revitalizing native ecosystems. Decades of logging left the land overcrowded and vulnerable, but through careful restoration—thinning dense growth, reintroducing native plants, and fostering biodiversity—we are bringing balance back to the forest. Our work is already yielding results, with bird species doubling in just one year. Through guided hikes, education, and hands-on conservation, we connect people with the land, inspiring a deeper understanding of nature’s resilience.
EXPERIENCE TIERRA LINDA Book your retreat in the redwoods
Nestled beneath cathedral canopies on 40 acres of recovering redwood forest, our guest suite offers more than rest—it offers reconnection. A well-appointed private space, just over a footbridge from the main house, opens into silence, birdsong, and the scent of bay laurel. Trails wind out from your door into native plant gardens, permaculture groves, and ridge-top vistas. Guided hikes are available, or you can wander solo with birds for company—26 species were counted this spring alone, up from 12 just a year prior . Whether you’re here to unwind, reflect, or learn, the suite offers cozy comfort with a king bed, patio, coffee bar, and complete privacy. It’s a sanctuary—quiet, grounded, alive.
MADE IN MAINE THE FULL PODCAST!
Designer and restorationist Christopher Reynolds reflects on rewilding, grief, and beauty with Maine as backdrop and metaphor. He speaks of native plants as lifelines, forest work as prayer, and why tending land—any land—is an act of radical hope. A conversation rooted in dirt, memory, and a future worth imagining.
